Cedar Upgrade - Latest News

Gardenature nest boxes, bird tables and feeder cams are manufactured using high quality exterior resin bonded ply (from sustainable sources) and are treated (on the outside only) using a water based, wildlife friendly preservative. This should offer years of safe, warm accommodation for your feathered guests and years of enjoyment for you.

As part of our continuing commitment to offering our customers the best deals possible we are currently offering a free upgrade to Cedar on selected kits subject to availability of the Cedar timber. Cedar is an attractive lightweight and hardy natural timber which is naturally resistant to varying weather conditions and requires no extra treatment.

When Cedar is not available we will ship kits using our standard high quality exterior resin bonded ply nest boxes, bird tables and feeders.

British Bird Fair 2007

Anybody who’s ‘in the know’ about birds will tell you that the Bird Fair is the one event not to be missed! . It is held over 3-days each year (17th –19th August 07) and is highly regarded throughout the world as being one of the best birdie gatherings, not just for the public but also a great place to forge relationships for the many businesses within the wildlife and birding industry.

As one of hundreds of exhibitors we arrived on the 16th to set up our stand (marquee 3) the weather was being kind at this point, which keeps everybody cheery. There is a great sense of camaraderie and it is always interesting to see how quick such a large event can be transformed from a few fields. The sheer scale of the thing makes you appreciate just how much planning goes into it!

We stayed in a hotel just up the road in Oakham and sampled the local culinary delights at a Chinese/Thai restaurant, very nice. In fact we enjoyed it so much we returned on the Saturday night, no imagination there then!
Most of the hotels and restaurants get booked up very quickly, so if you are thinking about a stop over here you need to book well in advance.

The show maintained a good steady flow of people all weekend, despite some heavy down pours and potential flooding, the hardy wildlife community donned in wax jacket and wellies still turned out, bravo! . The nice thing about this type of event is that everybody has an interest in wildlife and is very keen to chat and share their experience. If you were keeping a sharp eye out, you may have glimpsed a wildlife celebrity such as Simon King, Bill Oddie too!
Aside from the fantastic variety of lectures, there were lots of things to see and do, from auctions to competitive quiz shows with some great prizes donated by the exhibitors.

The gardenature stand was well received and it was great to meet some of our existing customers. It is always good to be ‘hands on’, receive customer feedback, demonstrate the product, and help people to understand just how simple it is to create their own wildlife TV channel. Whilst talking about the gardenature stand I have to force myself to mention that we won the commercial 1st prize for the ‘Best Stand Award’, we weren’t even aware that this was being judged so it came as a fantastic surprise to us.

Despite the poor weather, we thoroughly enjoyed the event, made lots of new friends both at home and abroad, and will certainly be returning again for our third year with even more new and exciting products, See you there!
